Atelier SUN has unveiled a new design concept for eye clinics and eyewear retail spaces with the Innovation Eye Clinic. Located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, the 1,400 sq ft ophthalmology clinic and eyeglass retail outlet features a unique wooden slat ceiling feature that adds warmth and depth to the space.
The design team faced a challenge when they first received the space, with concrete beams at varying elevations and a ceiling height that dropped below the promised clearance height. They responded with an innovative ceiling feature made of wooden slats suspended at varying heights and connected with clean, straight lines. Custom-designed lighting embedded in the slats adds a warm glow to the space, creating a subtle and sophisticated interplay between light and wood tones.
From the wooden ceiling feature to the displays and backdrop panels, every element of the Innovation Eye Clinic has been carefully crafted and curated to create a space that is both functional and visually stunning. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the beauty of the eyewear and the cozy atmosphere of the store.
In addition to its striking design features, the Innovation Eye Clinic also boasts a highly functional and calming clinical facility. The clinical facilities are located at the rear of the store, providing patients with privacy and comfort during their appointments. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the clinic helps to create a sense of ease and relaxation, which is especially important in a healthcare setting.
Overall, the Innovation Eye Clinic is a prime example of how innovative design can transform a space and enhance the customer experience. Atelier SUN’s unique approach to the design of eye clinics and eyewear retail spaces has created a warm, inviting, and functional space that inspires and captivates visitors.
