Noir Matiere is a residential penthouse interior designed by Boobrook at Lana Residences, Dorchester Collection, Dubai. Developed by Benjamin and Natacha Bouioukliev, the project explores how materiality and light can redefine spatial perception in a high-rise setting. Rather than competing with Dubai’s expressive skyline, Boobrook establishes a controlled and introspective interior environment that feels deliberately detached from its surroundings.
The design by Boobrook avoids superficial luxury gestures and instead focuses on spatial clarity and consistency. The result is a restrained yet powerful interior that demonstrates how reduction and precision can shape a cohesive residential experience.
Reinterpreting Brutalism Through Interior Language
The conceptual foundation of Noir Matiere lies in the reinterpretation of brutalist principles within a refined interior framework. Rather than emphasizing heaviness or monumentality, the project distills brutalism into its essential qualities: raw material honesty, clarity of form, and spatial discipline.
