Dubai Sculptural Beachfront Villa: Light & Form

In a fresh addition to Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah skyline, E Plus A Atelier’s new villa stands as a study in restraint and resonance. Here, every gesture—material, light, or spatial—has been calibrated to create a dynamic yet intimate beachfront retreat.

Behind the Atelier: E Plus A’s Vision

Founded in 2019 by Ali Mohammadioun and Elnaz Taghaddos, E Plus A Atelier has swiftly carved out a reputation for minimalist sophistication. Drawing on over twenty years of combined experience, the Dubai based duo leads a multidisciplinary studio that weaves together architecture, interiors, landscaping, furniture curation, and art consultation. Their goal is simple: to craft environments that feel both personal and timeless, free from overt stylistic flourishes yet rich in sensory detail.

Shaping Light and Form: The Design Concept

At the heart of the villa’s concept lies a choreography of light and material. The exterior reads as a sculptural monolith—warm travertine blocks intersected by slender lighting seams that trace the building’s geometry by night. A cantilevered stone beam ushers visitors across a sheer water curtain into the private realm, foreshadowing the interplay of serenity and strength found within. Inside, daylight filters through clerestories, skylights, and sculpted voids, while layered artificial lighting grazes textured walls and highlights circulation pathways. It’s an approach that treats light not as decoration, but as an architectural medium in its own right.

Living Spaces as Staged Moments

Rather than a conventional floor plan, the residence unfolds as a sequence of theatrical vignettes. A triple height atrium anchors the layout, featuring a glass elevator shaft and a ribbon ike staircase that appears to float. From here, the home branches into spaces that balance openness and privacy: a double height dining hall framed by timber fins; a fluted walnut and marble kitchen that frames the infinity pool beyond; and intimate bedrooms wrapped in bespoke joinery and tactile textiles. Each area feels both singular and part of a cohesive narrative.

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Dialogue

True to its beachfront setting, the villa dissolves the boundary between inside and out. Frameless glass walls grant uninterrupted views of the turquoise pool and curated garden, where palm, cactus, and baobab punctuate raised travertine planters. The landscape echoes the villa’s disciplined geometry, creating a unified visual field. In this way, the architecture extends into the natural environment, offering residents a living sculpture that shifts with light, weather, and time of day.
