Day Two of the World Architecture Festival continued its momentum in Miami, unveiling a new set of winners across Completed Buildings, Future Projects, and Interiors. As the world’s leading live-judged architecture competition, the festival once again highlighted global creativity through diverse works presented before more than 160 international judges.

This year’s Completed Buildings category showcased architectural diversity, ranging from national pavilions to mixed-use developments. The winner for Display, the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 Japan Pavilion by NIKKEN SEKKEI LTD, stood out for its clarity of form and masterful fabrication. The jury praised several projects for their contextual sensitivity and urban ingenuity, underscoring the role of architecture as a catalyst for positive impact. With strong contenders from Indonesia, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the United States receiving commendations, Day Two reflected the festival’s global reach.

Future Projects Driven by Vision

Canadian School by Sordo Madaleno

The Future Projects category highlighted ambitious proposals exploring sustainability, culture, and new programmatic relationships. LONE LUNG SPACE by Gayathri and Namith Architects earned recognition for its bold approach to mixed-use futures and its urban adaptability. Conceptual entries ranged from heritage-centered interventions in Iran to marine-inspired educational visions in Saudi Arabia. Judges applauded the depth of social awareness embedded in the winning schemes, especially projects addressing inequality, community resilience, and ecological performance.

Interior projects honored on Day Two balanced advanced technology with crafted material expressions. Studio Locomotive’s Apsara Cruise was celebrated for its atmospheric translation of Bangkok’s heritage, while educational, cultural, and hospitality interiors pushed new spatial boundaries. Award-winning interiors emphasized human experience and the integration of craft, demonstrating how thoughtful design reshapes daily rituals and community engagement.

With winners across 43 categories now determined, anticipation builds for the final day, when the ultimate accolades will be announced: World Building of the Year, World Interior of the Year, and Future Project of the Year. Landscape of the Year will also be revealed during the Gala Dinner at Miami Beach Convention Center. The World Architecture Festival, accessible via World Architecture Festival, continues to serve as a key platform for dialogue, recognition, and the future of architectural discourse.
