From Peter Cohan Architect: The L2Q House makes efficient use of its 1,940 square feet. It has an open plan with generous walls for art and shelves for books. A kinetic stair in the center becomes the focal point. The rectangular form, the use of durable materials and a simple structural system make the house economcal and easy to maintain. Its orientation to the south provides optimal daylighting and solar access. Concrete floors, advanced framing, rainscreen walls and the use of appropriate materials contribute to a strategy of energy and resource conservation.
