Prix Monuma 2026 Names Quebec Design Winners

The Prix Monuma 2026 winners offer a view of Quebec design that extends beyond the finished building. Announced after the September 30 gala at Theatre St-James in Montreal, the results bring architecture, interiors, construction, landscape, products and photography into one conversation. The useful distinction is between recognizing an object or space and recognizing the teams that make, build and document it.

A broader frame for design recognition

The second edition gathered 400 industry professionals, according to the organizer's release. Presented by Isothermic and organized by La Piece, the event followed the first edition in Quebec City. Its move to Montreal supplies context for this year's gathering, rather than evidence that one city or practice dominates the results.

Readers following the earlier Monuma nominee lineup can now distinguish selection from the final outcomes. The new release names category winners, so it adds a concrete result instead of repeating the earlier anticipation around the gala.

Architecture and interiors share the platform

Architecture results include Habitat Selenite by naturehumaine, SONO by Atelier Carle and the T.-A.-St-Germain library by ACDF architecture. The categories distinguish new construction, renovation, housing and other commissions. That framework makes the type of commission part of reading the award, rather than presenting every winning project as interchangeable.

Interior design has its own results, including Habitat 67 by FJORD Interieurs and Maison King-Edward by la Shed architecture. These names demonstrate the range of work recognized; they do not supply technical specifications or justify a claim that one design approach is universally better. A closer project profile would still need its own documentation.

Making, landscape and the smaller scale

The construction discipline places builders beside the creative practices, with Mellem Grace Dart recognized through Maitre Carre. Landscape winners include the Place Banque Nationale–Parc Michel-Belanger work by CCxA. Bringing those disciplines together gives delivery and outdoor space a visible place in the account of design quality.

A new product-design discipline broadens the program further. Spline by Jeremy Paguet Studio Paguet, Ave l'ete by PXP Design and Pleine Fleur by JETA studio appear among its winners. Furniture and lighting operate at a different scale from a library or landscape, but the program allows that smaller work to be recognized in its own categories.

Reading the results with care

Special distinctions include international recognition for ACDF architecture and a photography award for Renzo by Mathieu Levesque Photographe. Photography is a reminder that documenting design is a separate contribution, not simply an anonymous last step after construction. Credits matter when these results move from the gala into editorial coverage.

The full results from Prix Monuma are best read as a map of recognized contributions, not a universal ranking of Quebec practices. The table below keeps selected winners connected to their stated categories, while leaving project performance, costs and construction details to sources that actually document them.
